Faith and Beliefs
Everyone has certain Faith and Beliefs. Sometimes Faith and Beliefs are everything, isn't it?
When I was young, my mom had faith in VapoRub and hot water bags. She still believes in it. These were the medicine for fever and stomach ache as well as per her. Nowadays a little more improvement happened which is she uses the heating pad that works on electricity.
When my son visits home, he will tie it up and lie down. His belief is that the heating pad will take off all of his pain.
Dad's belief in Ayurveda is somewhat similar. My dad's uncle was an Ayurvedic doctor. I heard the story that he saved my dad and grandfather from snake venom.
Ayurveda things will settle very slowly. That's what I think as per my belief.
Ayurveda is better if you are willing to bear the pain and wait for long and permanent cure.
Because of this faith and belief only, my dad made my sister an Ayurvedic doctor. Now he has faith in her medicines and treatments believing that it will cure his illnesses.
Another thing which no one will believe. There is an old medicinal recipe to grow hair . The prescription is at home. In my childhood, my parents tried to make it and it was successful.
The same way my dad had faith in his youngest brother. Grandfather had told my dad to consider him as his own son as there is huge age difference between them. Our car and the land were all bought by him only as per my mom. Basement was built for a house in that land . It had been lying like a monument for years. Now I'm not sure anyone could have demolished it.
Like this, I also believe in some people. I used to drink tender coconut water from shops. My friend doctor told me that it is dangerous to buy from there. Because they don't wash the knife they use. Many people have got lifelong diseases like hepatitis due to this as per him. I always bring it home, cut it myself and drink it. I am not one to advise anyone on these beliefs. But we always keep faith and belief in some people right.
It is a belief like this that, if you came out of your house to go somewhere and forget something. Then you should sit down and drink water at home before going out again. Whenever I didn't follow this, there were some of the other mishaps that happened to me.
Isn't it the belief of everyone's to make many vows in places of worship? Like placing Lord Ganesha idol in the car. Before going on a journey, we break coconut and keep lemon in tyre, these all are faith and beliefs. People keep some faces/ masks hanging, so that no one puts an eye on the house. People put beauty spots on their faces right. Aren't these all faith and beliefs.
Grandfather had faith and belief like this in someone. It was in an astrologer. He was very old. Grandfather wants to know whether he will die or Granny will die first. History says that this astrologer used to apply ink in Betel leaf and show the enemy to people. I also went with him to see the astrologer.
The astrologer had a look on his horoscope and then he looked at Grandfather's face and said. Menon, you won't complete the July month.not only that. It's some time of the year,So three members of the family will die. Grandfather started sweating. People who have faith do not mind listening to these things.We returned home. I didn't believe or had faith in that astrologer because Grandfather was healthy that time.
But my Grandfather expired in July. Not only him, other three people as well in the family. The astrologer died before that. I still don't know the truth of this.
But everyone has their own faith and beliefs. No one else can judge it, other than ourselves.
