Car Mania
It's 2024. I was just looking at WhatsApp and saw an electric car advertisement. So thought this can be today's blog. As you all know cars are weakness for everyone.
An average Malayali( Keralite) has one dream then, now and forever. It's to own your own Honda City. Still many people I know , buying the same.
After buying a car, people spend a few days polishing it, dusting it, loading it with all the extras , and looking at it like some treasure.
I can also tell you about the mistakes, that I have made along with making fun of others. I bought a car long ago. It was an esteem. That too diesel. It had been kept in the parking for a long time. Everything was quick. I have returned home like a winner. If we show just some diesel, it used to run kilometres and kilometers. Also fancy no.What else you need.Within few days itself, I found that one of the wheels was rusted. Somehow welded it. Then another issue popped up, oil leak. Oil had to be changed often like we do blood transfusion. Luckily an Andhra man came and bought it. After that I bought a diesel car. But it crashed in an accident.
Later, the car became a necessity. At home, one person wanted a sedan, another wanted a SUV, and another wanted a car with a sunroof.When I asked my friends, they told me to buy one with more power. As I was not God Indras Father Muthuppattar and knowing the pain of having a diesel car with frequent leg pain, I opted for an automatic amt.
Something about my driving. I had learned driving from a local driver guru. He had an ambassador Model with gear mounted on the steering wheel. At least two people were needed to hold the steering and turn it. One day I was rash driving, so we were about to fall from a steep. Luckily Guruji jumped and pressed the brakes to save us and the car. I still remember the pain of that pinch in my ears.
There is this driving story of someone. I'm not saying the name :). This person studied and studied and finally took the driving test. As expected, lost in the first attempt. Again learned to take H using driving school car. RTO was like an action hero. An inspector by looking at him only, we will be in tension. Then this person attempted a second driving test. At the last minute of the test, the car engine got turned off. Thought he would let it go. Inspector had given a smile and said better luck next time. He told gently to come after learning thoroughly. Realizing that this is not going to work, this person slowly came to Karnataka and bought the license by playing video games. As you all know, in Karnataka it's like that.
Seeing this person driving from a distance, everyone can understand who is driving the car. There will be hundreds of cars behind. Even if anybody honks the car, still the car will be in the middle of the road. One day someone asked. Is this road only yours, no-one else should go through the road because of you?Who cares. This person continues the same still.
My father took the license after becoming a senior citizen. I don't know if it was because he wanted to take my mother for a drive or it was because we bought car at home. He lost the test successfully 4 times as expected. Driving school people said. Sir, we don't think you are going to get the license. Dad didn't leave the hope. 5th time somehow he has succeeded. If you put in the effort and keep trying, anything we can achieve in this world.
Another friend had a small car. Always AC he had to turn off to overtake, while going on the highway. His wife used to curse him. Also in his native, no value as per him due to the small car. Slowly he bought a big car. Even that was not enough to get some value among people, so later he bought second hand Benz. Who knows if the car is second hand or first hand. A guy who owns a Benz, always has some value and gets respect as per him.
One another person just told the partner only one wish after their marriage. We need a Wagon R. Such a small wish and that also Wagon R :).
Even if there are four people who will be talking now , one of the topics will be about car. We ourselves give life to cars even though cars having no life. It will continue till people and cars exist.
